After a heart-pounding NBA season, now in its final stages with the clashes between Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns, it's time to start dusting off the shelves as 2K Games' annual sports game is about to return: arrives September 10 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, PC and Nintendo Switch.
Visual Concepts developers and publisher 2K Games have just revealed their roster of NBA 2K22 editions:
The Standard Edition, priced at around € 70 for next-gen platforms and € 60 for other consoles, features Luka Doncic, Slovenian playmaker of the Dallas Mavericks twice who finished in the NBA All-Star Games on the cover. In North America, players can find WNBA star champion Candace Parker on the cover, while Japanese fans can find Washington Wizards' Rui Hachimura.
The NBA 75th Anniversary Edition takes the game to the next level by celebrating three legends that have made the sport iconic over the past 75 years, three basketball players who need no introduction: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Drik Nowitzki and Kevin Durant (for him is the third time he has appeared as a cover athlete in a 2K game). This edition costs € 99.
Given the corss-generational period with new consoles having problems on the production and distribution chain, Games has also thought of a Cross-Gen Digital Bundle that allows you to access the next-gen version of NBA 2K22 without having to buy a new copy, should a new console finally arrive in your home. All covers are designed by Charly Palmer, an Atlanta artist.
There will be more announcements regarding NBA 2K22 in the coming weeks, including first looks at gameplay and new game features, soundtracks, live service updates, and more. Meanwhile, NBA 2K21 live services will still be supported for one year.
